Top 3 Kids' Reference Books

From Kimberly L. Keith, for About.com

A dictionary and thesaurus geared to your child's reading level are tops on the list. A grammar helper is also nice at homework time.

1. DK Merriam-Webster Children's Illustrated Dictionary

Dorling-Kindersley combined with Merriam-Webster is a winning combination. Recommended for 9-12, but I think younger kids will like it too.

2. Scholastic Children's Thesaurus

A thesaurus is a great learning tool. Scholastic's is highly rated by parents.

3. A Grammar Book for You and I (Oops, Me)

A new book that is easy to use and fun to read, middle school through adult.
